The total solar eclipse that will be observable in Mexico in 2024 is an exciting and spectacular astronomical event. On April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will occur in various regions of Mexico, crossing the country from northwest to southeast.
During a total solar eclipse, the Moon lines up perfectly between the Earth and the Sun, completely blocking direct sunlight and plunging the viewing area into darkness. It is an impressive phenomenon in which you can see the solar corona, the outer atmosphere of the Sun, which is normally not visible due to the brightness of the solar disk.
For those who are interested in witnessing the total eclipse of the sun in Mexico, it is a unique and exciting opportunity. Some of the regions where the eclipse will be visible include Sinaloa, Durango, Zacatecas, San Luis Potosí, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, and Veracruz. In the city of Zacatecas the eclipse will be partially visible and in the nearby city of Torreón it will be fully observable.
The participants of the PCST 2024 International Symposium and the IX National Colloquium of Recreational Science will have exclusive access to the Torreón Planetarium, where the NASA international transmission center will be installed. We invite those interested in participating in our event to schedule their trip to take advantage of the occasion and observe this spectacular phenomenon.
It should be noted that the date of the eclipse in April generally offers favorable weather in many parts of Mexico, which increases the chances of having a clear sky for better observation.
